Dr. Battuvshin Lkhagvasuren is a senior lecturer in the Department of Psychosomatic Medicine at the International University of Health and Welfare, Japan. He is a licensed psychiatrist in Mongolia with over 11 years of clinical experience. Battuvshin teaches medical students a biopsychosocial approach to understanding mind-body interactions.
His current research focuses on the mechanisms underlying long COVID and ME/CFS using a mouse model to identify effective treatments for these debilitating diseases. In addition to active basic research, he leads a multidisciplinary cohort team in Mongolia to study the epidemiology and clinical characteristics of brain-related disorders in the general population.
